Methodology and Language Awareness Courses for Teachers of English and CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) Teachers
Dates: 2 week courses starting on 28th June, 12th July and 26th July 2010 - Fees £520 plus £50 registration fee.
2,3 or 4 week courses available for groups of 5 or more throughout the year. Contact us to arrange courses for groups. Fees negotiable for larger groups.
The courses follow a modular approach incorporating 2 hour language awareness classes each morning and 2 hour methodology seminars and workshops each afternoon. Also included is a daily 1 hour Personal Study Programme when teachers can specialise in work on their subject area or English teaching methodology.
This programme allows you to focus on both CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) and English language teaching methodologies.
- Develop your awareness of current trends in language teaching and/or CLIL
- Give you new ideas and materials to use in your own CLIL and English classrooms
- Update and develop your awareness of contemporary everyday English
Areas covered will include:
- motivating language learners
- contemporary culture in English-speaking countries

- analysis of teaching methods and materials in English and CLIL classes
- lexical approaches
- task-based approaches
- incorporating authentic materials
- learner-based teaching
- Content and Language Integrated Learning
All applicants are asked to complete a needs analysis form so that we can ensure that to the best of our ability the course meets your needs and wants. If you are a CLIL teacher, please specify the subject area you teach e.g. History, Geography etc
Additional course dates can be organised throughout the year to suit groups of English or CLIL teachers. Our course administrator will discuss your preferred dates with you, and will contact you to confirm that courses are available.
